Significance of Kalpataru Day
Kalpataru Day is observed all over the world on 1st January of every year, by Ramakrishna devotees. The event commemorates the day on 1 January 1886, the day of the self-revelation of Sri Ramakrishna, when he became what is now popularly called the Kalpataru, “the wish-fulfilling tree.”
Our Story
From 1987 to 1998 the Madurai Math had undergone very hard days, had almost re-witnessed the Baranagore days of the Direct Disciples. Not much monetary support was to be had from the general public. However, a few devotees lovingly gave money according to their means and more than that they did a lot of voluntary work for the Math with wholehearted devotion.
Our Activities
Major activities include Daily Worship, Spiritual practices, Religious preaching, General and technical education with an ethical and spiritual background, Medical services, Famine and distress relief work, Rural upliftment, Work for the labouring masses for their improvement and other Cultural Activities.
